Position Summary:

We are looking for a collaborative, talented, and experienced analytical chemist to join our analytical department at Adesis. The successful candidate will perform analysis to characterize pharmaceutical and OLED starting materials, intermediates, and final compounds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze samples using HPLC, UPLC, Chiral LC, IC, GPC, prep-LC, LC/MS, GC, headspace GC and GC/MS techniques
  • Prepare and analyze samples using NMR
  • Prepare and analyze samples using spectroscopic, potentiometric, thermal, X-ray and laser diffraction techniques
  • Prepare solvent mixtures for LC
  • Perform instrument maintenance, repair and calibration activities as needed
  • Perform documentation of analytical work per company procedures
  • Process data and compile analytical data packages
  • Review analytical data packages, determine data matches proposed structure and report
  • results
  • Work closely with chemistry teams to develop innovative approaches to address specific challenges in sample analysis and structural elucidation
  • Author and review SOPs, test methods, protocols, and reports
  • Store and archive analytical data according to company procedures
  • Coordinate with other functional areas to advance projects in development
  • Strictly follow company policies, SOPs, and safety standards
  • Train new chemists on the use of analytical equipment
  • Help maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Evaluate and purchase new instruments
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • BS in Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related discipline
  • 2-5 years of industrial experience
  • Strong understanding of chromatographic and spectrophotometric techniques
  • Strong experience in operating HPLC, UPLC, GC, FTIR, and KF instruments and data interpretation
  • Experience in sample preparation techniques for qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Strong understanding of instrument hardware and software, and experience in maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Experience in performing instrument calibrations
  • Strong understanding of good documentation practices and data integrity requirements
  • Experience in good laboratory practices
  • Independently motivated, detail oriented and possess strong problem-solving ability
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with an ability to embrace change and multi-task to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with and mentor peers as well as effectively interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization
