Position Summary:

This role will be responsible for oversight of all Analytical Chemistry department at Adesis. The incumbent will be responsible for all analytical chemistry operations, including quality control, analytical method development and R&D support. Additionally, this role will streamline current laboratory operations while positioning the department to successfully match the growth of the overall business. This leader will facilitate the introduction of new technologies and capabilities to match the growing and diverse needs of our customers. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain standards for a clean and safe laboratory.
  • Participate in safety committee reviews and meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external standards and certifications, including ISO-9001 and GXP, including OOS and others as required.
  • Participate in method transfer and other high level discussion with Adesis CDMO clients.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient operability of all instruments and adherence to calibration schedules.
  • Attract, develop, supervise, and mentor the analytical chemistry staff, ensuring alignment with Adesis’ mission, vision, and values
  • Ensure clarity in roles and responsibilities for analytical staff and ensure assignments meet required service levels.
  • Serve as Adesis liaison between the UDC and Adesis analytical teams
  • Support ongoing manufacturing of materials for the OLED and CDMO business units to ensure on time in full (OTIF) to our external customers.
  • Support other functional areas to advance development projects.
  • Oversee method development, validation and transfer as needed using various chromatographic methods (LC, Chiral LC, prep-LC, LC/MS, GC, GC/MS), potentiometric, spectrophotometric and thermal analytical techniques for raw materials, intermediates and final products.
  • Ensure all preventive maintenance and calibration activities are scheduled and current.
  • Provide technical assistance for maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of analytical instruments and software.
  • Consistently evaluate current analytical equipment and make recommendations for purchase of new equipment as warranted
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry, with a strong preference for a Ph.D. with concentration in Analytical Chemistry
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in leading a high performing Analytical Chemistry departments.
  • Deep scientific knowledge in analytical chemistry techniques used in the life science, specialty chemical and electronics industries.
  • Extensive knowledge of GMP requirements for analytical method development and validation strongly preferred
